All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Biological Reports (INJBIR) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure high standards of scientific quality, integrity, and ethical compliance.
- Each manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent experts in the relevant field.
- Reviewer identities remain anonymous to the authors, and author identities remain anonymous to the reviewers.
- The Editorial Office conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript's scope, originality, basic scientific suitability, and compliance with the journal's submission and ethical requirements before external peer review.
- Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- Reviewers may decline an invitation or must disclose any potential conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality.
- The average time to the first editorial decision is approximately 4–6 weeks, although this may vary depending on manuscript type, reviewer availability, and the complexity of the evaluation.
- Final editorial decisions—including acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection—are made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated Editor after consideration of the reviewers' comments and the overall scientific and editorial assessment.
- All information and materials exchanged during peer review are treated as confidential, and the journal follows recognized publication-ethics principles, including relevant COPE guidance.
