The International Journal of Biological Reports (INJBIR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific publishing through a transparent, fair, and ethical editorial process. All editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
The Editorial Board is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the peer-review process and for maintaining the scientific quality of all published content. Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts without discrimination regarding nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, or political beliefs.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by the publisher, sponsors, advertisers, or any external organizations. Acceptance or rejection of manuscripts is based solely on scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal.
Manuscript Assessment
Every submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to determine whether it:
  • Fits the aims and scope of the journal.
  • Meets the journal's formatting requirements.
  • Demonstrates sufficient scientific quality.
  • Complies with publication ethics.
  • Contains original and unpublished work.
  • Is written in clear scientific English.
Manuscripts that do not satisfy these basic requirements may be rejected before external peer review.
Editorial Decision
Following peer review, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Academic Editor makes one of the following decisions:
  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject
Editorial decisions are based on reviewers' recommendations together with the independent scientific judgment of the editorial team.
Confidentiality
Editors and reviewers treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Information contained in submitted manuscripts will not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial staff, and publisher when necessary for the editorial process.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence editorial decisions. Editors with conflicts involving a submitted manuscript will withdraw from the editorial process, and another qualified editor will manage the manuscript.
Research Integrity
INJBIR expects all submitted manuscripts to comply with internationally accepted standards of research integrity. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate image manipulation, unethical experimentation, and other forms of scientific misconduct are not tolerated.
When concerns regarding research integrity arise before or after publication, the Editorial Office will investigate the matter following internationally recognized ethical publishing practices. Appropriate editorial actions may include requests for clarification, publication of corrections, expressions of concern, or article retraction when warranted.
Authorship
All listed authors must have made substantial scientific contributions to the work and approve the submitted and final versions of the manuscript. Individuals who do not meet accepted authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately but should not be listed as authors.
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) tools may be used only to improve language, readability, or presentation of manuscripts. AI systems cannot be credited as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the scientific content or integrity of the work.
Authors must disclose any use of generative AI during manuscript preparation. Responsibility for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and conclusions of the manuscript remains entirely with the human authors.
Appeals
Authors who believe an editorial decision was based on a misunderstanding or factual error may submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals will be reviewed carefully, and the resulting editorial decision will be considered final.
Corrections and Retractions
The journal is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified, appropriate editorial actions—including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern—will be issued when necessary.
Publication Ethics
INJBIR expects authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff to adhere to the highest standards of ethical publishing and scientific integrity throughout the submission, review, publication, and post-publication processes.
