The International Journal of Biological Reports (INJBIR) is committed to ensuring that research published in the journal is conducted in accordance with recognized ethical standards and applicable institutional, national, and international requirements.
INJBIR expects authors to obtain all necessary ethical approvals before conducting research and to clearly report relevant ethical information in the manuscript.
The journal follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in matters related to publication and research integrity.
Animal Studies
  • All research involving animals must obtain prior approval from an appropriate institutional ethics committee or equivalent authority, where required.
  • Research involving animals must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international standards for the care and use of animals in research.
  • Authors should follow the ARRIVE guidelines, where applicable, for the transparent reporting of research involving animals.
  • Where client-owned animals are involved, appropriate informed consent must be obtained from the animal owner or authorized representative and reported in the manuscript.
Human Studies
  • All research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards, including the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki, where applicable.
  • Research involving human participants must obtain approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent authority before the study begins, where required.
  • Written informed consent must be obtained from participants or their legal representatives where required.
  • The manuscript must clearly state the relevant ethics approval and informed consent information.
The Editorial Office may request evidence of ethical approval or informed consent documentation when necessary.
