The International Journal of Biological Reports (INJBIR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal expects authors, editors, reviewers, and editorial staff to conduct all aspects of the publication process responsibly, transparently, and ethically.
The journal promotes honesty, accountability, fairness, and scientific excellence while safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record.
Research Integrity
All submitted manuscripts must present original, accurate, and reliable scientific findings.
The journal does not tolerate:
- Data fabrication
- Data falsification
- Plagiarism
- Duplicate publication
- Simultaneous submission
- Image manipulation intended to mislead readers
- Citation manipulation
- Fraudulent peer review
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
- Inappropriate authorship practices
Any allegation of scientific misconduct will be investigated thoroughly before an editorial decision is made.
Publication Originality
Submitted manuscripts must:
- Be original work.
- Not have been published previously in any language.
- Not be under consideration by another journal.
- Properly acknowledge the work of other researchers.
- Include accurate and complete references.
Authors remain responsible for the originality of all submitted material.
Human Research
Research involving human participants must comply with internationally accepted ethical principles.
Authors must clearly state:
- The name of the approving Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board.
- Approval or reference number, where applicable.
- That informed consent was obtained from participants or their legal representatives.
Research involving vulnerable populations must demonstrate additional ethical safeguards.
Animal Research
Studies involving animals must comply with internationally recognized standards for animal welfare and ethical research.
Authors should describe:
- Ethical approval obtained.
- Animal welfare considerations.
- Procedures implemented to minimize pain, suffering, and distress.
The journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to demonstrate appropriate ethical treatment of animals.
Clinical Research
Clinical investigations should be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical and scientific principles.
Where applicable, authors are encouraged to provide clinical trial registration information and relevant ethical approvals.
Informed Consent
Where required, authors must confirm that appropriate informed consent was obtained from participants or their legal representatives.”
Appropriate permission must also be obtained for publication of identifiable photographs, videos, or clinical information.
Authorship
Authorship should accurately reflect individual scientific contributions.
Each listed author should have contributed substantially to:
- Study conception or design.
- Data collection.
- Data analysis or interpretation.
- Drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
- Approval of the final manuscript.
Individuals who contributed without meeting authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be accompanied by:
- A written explanation.
- Written agreement from all authors.
The Editorial Office reserves the right to request additional documentation before approving any authorship changes.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose all relationships that could influence—or reasonably appear to influence—their scientific judgment.
Potential conflicts may include:
- Financial interests.
- Employment.
- Consultancy.
- Research funding.
- Patents.
- Personal relationships.
- Institutional affiliations.
Where no conflicts exist, authors should state:
"The authors declare that they have no competing interests."
Funding Disclosure
All sources of financial support should be disclosed completely.
If no external funding was received, authors should include the following statement:
"This research received no external funding."
Artificial Intelligence
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used only to improve language, grammar, readability, or manuscript presentation.
AI systems:
- Cannot be listed as authors.
- Cannot assume responsibility for scientific content.
- Cannot approve manuscripts.
Authors must disclose any use of AI during manuscript preparation.
Responsibility for the accuracy, originality, scientific interpretation, and integrity of the manuscript remains entirely with the human authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all submitted manuscripts.
Unpublished information obtained during peer review must not be shared or used for personal, academic, or commercial advantage.
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit appeals concerning editorial decisions by providing a detailed scientific justification.
Complaints regarding editorial conduct, peer review, or publication ethics will be investigated objectively by the Editorial Office.
Corrections
When significant errors are identified after publication that do not invalidate the scientific findings, the journal will publish an official correction linked to the original article.
Retractions
The journal may retract published articles when clear evidence demonstrates:
- Scientific misconduct.
- Fabricated or falsified data.
- Plagiarism.
- Duplicate publication.
- Major methodological errors.
- Unethical research.
- Unreliable findings.
Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original publication to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.
Expressions of Concern
Where investigations are ongoing and conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to alert readers while maintaining transparency.
